We found Daniel Cudmore at Tampa Bay Comic Con
Having seen Dan most recently at the world wide premiere of X-Men: Days of Future Past in May, it was still a shock and an adjustment seeing him with a full beard at the Tampa Bay Comic Con August 1-4 in sunny Tampa Bay Florida.
These pics were taken by us and are also going to be posted in the gallery on our site hub www.FANdemoniumNetwork.com in our gallery, with more pictures to come. We will give you the link as we get them uploaded. The pictures below were taken on the last day of the convention.
When I first went over to him, I had no choice but to touch his cheek and say, "What is this?", where he simply being Dan replied, "It's a beard, I have grown up and I am a man." We both laughed as I got my long over due hug, and I am still looking at these pictures and trying to get used to him "being a man".
What do you think of Dan and his manly beard?

Man We Burn For: X-Men’s Daniel Cudmore
Daniel Cudmore is NBA-tall (6’6”!) and almost too Harlequin-cover handsome. It’s a rare combination among notoriously bijou action stars and one that made him a natural fit for the role of Colossus, the supersized supermutant of the X-Men franchise.
In X-Men: Days of Future Past (out today), the Squamish, B.C. native reprises his strongman role and joins his fellow mutants—including Ellen Page, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender—in an epic battle to save the species from obliteration.
The hulking hunk filled out our FLARE questionnaire and revealed what what makes him weak in the knees (hint: it goes vroom).
My friends say I’m… Taller than the rest of their friends.
I think I’m… Shorter then I really am.
My greatest fear is…Not reaching my full potential
My favourite TV show is: Game of Thrones
The last great book I read was: The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt
The song that always makes me tear up is: “Biko” by Bloc Party
The song that makes me dance like no one’s watching is: “Anything” by Outkast
The best meal I can cook is: Steak on the BBQ, with twice-baked potatoes and brussels sprouts with pancetta.
The one thing I can’t live without is: Wine
My favourite junk food is: Kettle chips cheddar and sour candies
My greatest indulgence is: Cars
My greatest weakness is: Cars!
My favourite cologne is: Tom Ford Noir
My favourite accessory is: I love a nice watch—Hublot, Bell & Ross, Panerai…
My favourite men’s designer is: Tom Ford, again
The worst thing about being an actor is: Losing your privacy
My worst habit is: Social media! (Follow him @danielcudmore)
The human quality I’d like to eradicate is: Greed
The human quality I’d like to see more of is: Empathy
My first job was: Pumping gas
What I miss most about Squamish: Being close to Whistler
The superpower I would like most to possess: Flight! So I don’t have to deal with small planes
Now tell us a little about your latest project: You play Colossus in X-Men: Days of Future Past. What’s new about the character in this sequel? Colossus is now at the point where he has to fight for his life and for his fellow mutants, which makes him a bit colder and battle-hardened.
What’s your favourite scene to film and why? I always love the physical scenes and some of the fight scenes were a blast to film.
How did you prepare for the role? I had to get back to a physical shape that I wanted for the character with only a short amount of time to do it in. I only had two-and-a-half weeks to train. To get in shape, I did two workouts a day—one cardio, one strength—and kept to a very strict diet.
Daniel Cudmore Gets Colossal for X-Men
To play X-Men superhero Colossus, actor Daniel Cudmore had to get in superhuman shape. Find out how he did it.
When Daniel Cudmore got the call that he would be playing Colossus in the X-Men franchise, he had to start thinking about getting...well, colossal. To portray the strongest X-Man on the big screen, Cudmore pulled out all the stops, including packing ten pounds of muscle onto his frame in one month. He talked to us about what it took to become Colossus, plus his experience shooting the film in this exclusive behind-the-scenes video at his photo shoot with Muscle & Fitness.

From Rugby To Rasputin: Daniel Cudmore Has Become A Full-Fledged Superhero
There might be some auditions where a black eye or some rake marks on the cheek helps an actor get the role. But after a while, Daniel Cudmore had to give up rugby to get roles in major films.
It proved to be a smart move for the former lock on the storied Capilano club of West Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, Cudmore is one of three rugby-playing brothers. Younger sibling Luke was an age-grade player for Canada, while older brother Jamie suited up for Canada's senior team and played in three Rugby World Cups as well as being a ferocious presence as a pro, most notably for Clermont-Auvergne in France.
Daniel was in the middle, a 6-foot-7 forward with power who eventually chose the screen over the field. A quiet tower of strength as a player, he now embraces a similar role in X-Men: Days of Future Past, opening May 23, as Colossus (aka Piotr Rasputin), the reluctant Russian mutant who can turn his body into iron, but fears the destruction his own strength can bring. Cudmore started in film as a stunt performer, and he sometimes flitted between acting roles and stunt roles.
"The film industry is an extremely hard industry," he said, not adding that it helps to be 6-foot-7, strong and handsome. “You take any work you can get and with the stunt work I was very happy to get it. I have always wanted to be an actor. I wanted to play complex characters, and in a perfect world you get to do a bit of everything. You work and work and work and you're ecstatic when you get jobs. I guess now it’s nice as an actor to be able to do some of my own stunts."
Cudmore made his debut as Colossus in X-Men 2 back in 2003, but the role was a quiet one. He reprised the role in 2006 in X-Men: The Last Stand, while appearing in a number of films and TV shows as both an actor and stunt performer. He was also part of the Twilight Saga films as Felix.
But this time around, in Days of Future Past, he gets to stretch his acting chops a bit more. Colossus is the alter ego of Piotr Rasputin, a Russian farm boy and descendent of Grigori Rasputin, the power-hungry monk who (we’re talking real history here) had a role in the fall of the Russian Empire in 1917. He is reluctant to fight, to unleash his full power, and as a result often uses his iron body to protect others.
Anyone who has played lock on a rugby field can understand that world view.
"Anyone who has played a contact sport understands that rugby is a very emotion-filled sport,” Cudmore explained. "It's easy to fly off the handle, but you also play mind games. If you laugh it off you can make the other guy more mad and that takes him off his game. You can use that to your advantage. With Rasputin, he's afraid of how strong he is, but in this iteration, you're going to see that he has gotten to the last resort. He is losing friends left and right and whereas in the past you’ve seen him not want to go down the road of violence, here it’s the only option and it’s survival mode."
One can see the parallel to his older brother, Jamie (below), a fearsome player for Canada, who became well-known in French league play for the many confrontations with opposing players, and the yellow and red cards he accumulated. When the brothers get together, they don’t talk much about rugby, but Daniel says he sees a parallel between his Rasputin/Colossus character and his hard-nosed brother.

"I know they were in the playoffs and they lost," Daniel said. "I don't bring it up -- he lives it. We don't really talk about our careers; we just basically rip on each other most of the time. But Jamie -- he's matured and has Rasputin's attitude rubbed off on him? [laughs] I don't know, maybe. I think he just realized it’s a good idea to play more on the field and not be sent to the sideline."
That speaks to Daniel’s attitude as an actor, too. He wants to be there, and in his latest film, he's not only there, he is there among a host of pretty famous people, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman (not a big rugby guy, who knew?), and Ian McKellen.
"I am just so proud that we got the whole team back for the film," he said. "It's tough when you have as many great characters as we have, but you have to play those characters and play them to a story that makes sense. I think this is the best X-Men yet. I have been working on my craft and learning, and I felt great about how this film worked out. I got to have some fun with it."

Daniel Cudmore, Evan Peters pose as 'X-Men' characters for new Carl's Jr. campaign
The ‘X-Men’ actors have teamed up with the restaurant chain for a new ‘X-Tra Bacon’ ad campaign.
A month before "X-Men: Days of Future Past" comes out, two of the movie’s stars are beefing up for the big release.
Evan Peters and Daniel Cudmore, who will play Quicksilver and Colossus in the Marvel franchise — have teamed up with Carl's Jr. and Hardee's for their latest campaign for two new “X-Tra Bacon” sandwiches, which debut at the restaurants on Monday.
Peters, 26, appears in costume and sports silver hair for the Carl’s Jr. shoot featuring the "X-Men" fast-moving mutant character. He holds the restaurants' new bacon-packed egg and cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich.
In another promo photo Cudmore, 33, who reprises his role as the steely mutant Colossus in "Days of Future Past," represents the restaurant chains by enjoying a Carl's Jr. drink.
The movie, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart and Halle Berry, opens nationwide on May 23.

15 of the Biggest Beasts in Rugby : @JNCudmore
Much like the NFL, rugby is a sport that is chock full of beasts. Both sports are similar in many ways so it is not a surprise that the sport of rugby has players that are just as badass as those in the NFL. I am sure most football fans (American football) think there is no way any sport can match their players combination strength and athleticism but these rugby players can more than hold their own. We have compiled a list of 15 of the biggest beasts in rugby that easily rival those of the NFL. Keep in mind this list, as with our list of the most jacked players in the NFL could easily have been much longer. This sport is littered with guys just like the 15 here. Enough talking, let’s get to the list. Here are 15 of the biggest beasts in rugby in no particular order.
Height: 6′ 6″ Weight: 255 lbs
Cudmore is a straight up beast. The Canadian was a troubled youth that was lucky enough to have rugby turn his life around for the better. Take note of the cauliflower ear on both ears. Anyone with cauliflower ear is not someone to be messed with. You don’t get cauliflower ear from being in the chess club. It only comes from doing lots of rugby, boxing, MMA or wrestling. Just a word to the wise.
